At NXT Worlds Collide 2022, Bron Breakker defeated Tyler Bate in the main event match to unify the NXT Championship and the NXT UK Championship. The finishing sequence saw Bron countering a clothesline attempt from Bate with a huge spear for the pin to win and cement his spot as the new kingpin of the NXT roster.
Breakker has been the NXT Champion since defeating Dolph Ziggler on the April 4 edition of Raw which was the Night after Wrestlemania 38. Breakker made his WWE debut on the September 14, 2021, episode of NXT 2.0 by competing in a match against LA Knight. He headed into NXT Worlds Collide 2022 as a two-time NXT Champion, already.

On the other hand, Bate is the first-ever two-time NXT UK Champion. He was the inaugural WWE United Kingdom Champion who held the title from January 2017 until May 2017. Heading into NXT Worlds Collide 2022, he held the NXT UK title since the July 7 TV taping, where he won the vacant title from former tag team partner, Trent Seven.
WWE announced on August 18 that NXT UK will be going into a hiatus until it gets rebranded as NXT Europe in 2023 which is the reason why the title got unified at NXT Worlds Collide 2022. To set up the match, Bate made a surprise debut on the August 15 episode by confronting Breakker, who had just retained the NXT Title against J.D. McDonagh.

Also at NXT Worlds Collide 2022, Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) became the Unified NXT Tag Team Champions by defeating the NXT Tag Team Champions The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed), the NXT UK Champions Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, and Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang).
During the match, Damon Kemp turned on The Creed Brothers with a steel chair capitalizing on which Pretty Deadly got the win. Also, Diamond Mine faction leader Roderick Strong was also supposedly taken out by Kemp in a backstage attack.
Additionally, during NXT Worlds Collide 2022, NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose defeated NXT UK Champion Meiko Satomura and Blair Davenport in a triple threat match to unify the NXT Women’s Championship and NXT UK Women’s Championship.
