Paige is one of the unfortunate professional wrestlers who was forced to retire at the age of just 25. Fans thought she had plenty of wrestling left within her but that didn’t turn out to be the case. Neck concussions are perhaps the most sensitive in the history of pro-wrestling that turned out to be pretty much fatal for her as she had to announce her retirement in 2018 in the same arena she debuted, four years ago.
The good thing is that there are examples available in the WWE where superstars did come back after having neck surgeries and Paige also stands a chance with the same.

Paige Says Her ‘Neck Feels Wonderful’ While Teasing WWE In-Ring Return
The first-ever NXT Women’s Champion posted a throwback photo from her days in a neck brace when she went through the needed surgeries to fix issues around her neck. She made it clear that the neck brace is no longer needed.
She is fine now after 6 screws and 2 fusions. Although Paige didn’t mention anything directly about her in-ring return, she did say if her coach will let her in,
“Recycled pic. But.. Spent the last 2 years of my in-ring career with this neck brace. 6 screws and 2 fusions later.. my neck feels wonderful. Can you let me in yet coach?”
Rumors started running rampant about Paige returning to action before the coronavirus pandemic began. WWE once confirmed her appearance on Smackdown with a Wrestlemania announcement that fueled things up in March. But nothing came out of that rumor and rather her scheduled SmackDown appearance came via satellite instead.

Being one of the most popular Divas Champion in history, fans always remain attracted to the so-called anti-Diva. If WWE doctors medically clear her, someday, she would become a real asset to the female division.
Paige is also remaining very positive about making an in-ring comeback, someday. She used the ‘never say never’ phrase while noting on her potential WWE return during a conversation with Inside The Ropes.
During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump on Youtube, Paige discussed how much Hall of Famer Edge inspires her in this context,
“He’s just wonderful like I’m truly inspired by him. Like I was always a fan anyway — I was a massive Edgehead, for sure. The fact that he went through the same as me neck-wise and then went away for like nine years and then all of a sudden he made this miraculous recovery and a return to the ring, I was crying.”
