Eva Marie was scheduled to make her in-ring return a few weeks ago against Naomi, as per the earlier advertisements on the show. But that obviously didn’t happen as she dodged competition with ease. Piper Niven came down to the ring alongside her and dominated the former Smackdown Women’s Champion. A splash followed by a Michinoku Driver was enough to put away The Glow.
Interestingly, after the match, Eva Marie announced that the winner of the match was herself. She celebrated with Niven like she herself pinned the former champion. This was a move that led the fans trending #NaomiDeservesBetter on Twitter. For all the rightful reasons, this move also garnered some natural heats on the Super Role Model. That is likely to grow as WWE continues to sideline Eva from wrestling.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s plans for Eva Marie and Piper Niven. He stated Piper will continue to wrestle so Eva doesn’t have to. The act will work since Eva will be present on TV, each week but she doesn’t have to work in the ring.
“Think about this, Piper Niven can wrestle. So, you have Eva Marie on the show, in her outfit every week. Piper Niven does the wrestling, Eva Marie takes credit for the wins and we don’t have to see Eva Marie wrestle.” (Transcription by Ringside News)

Eva Marie won’t get much physical on Raw
It should be noted that Piper Niven is a wrestler from the WWE NXT UK brand but her name wasn’t noted by the commentators. This certainly indicated that WWE intends to give her a new name, down the road. According to Fightful Select, the new name pitched for her was “Dew Drop” or “Doudrop”. the latter name is now being used on Raw.
The same source previously reported that Eva Marie is going to be used as a vehicle to get other wrestlers over. So the possibility is that Piper is in line for a big push. However, that new name pitched by WWE is likely to make a lot of fans angry.
We’ll have to see how long this union between Piper Niven and Eva Marie lasts. The two could end up feuding once she turns on the former Total Divas star as this is bound to happen eventually, going by the storyline where Eva takes credit for Niven’s victories.
