For the past several months, Liv Morgan worked hard to establish herself as one of the mainstays of the WWE female division. The journey wasn’t easy given how unstable, spots have been for female talents amid all those COVID-19 related releases. Both the Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown rosters have been thinned down via this sudden let-gos.
While the former Riott Squad members have been released from the WWE, Liv Morgan not only retained her position but also gained a lot of fan support in the past few months. This is the reason that WWE gave her the top contender’s spot for the Raw Women’s Championship, right after the draft. Despite the chances, she was unable to pick up the championship, however.

After the main event match in December, Liv Morgan also failed to win the belt from Big Time Becks at WWE Day 1 PPV event. It appears that WWE doesn’t consider her to be the champion, as of this writing.
Liv Morgan still trying to prove her worth on Raw
Jimmy Korderas was a recent guest on The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast recently, where he discussed the Day 1 PPV outcome. The former WWE official reflected his thoughts on the Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan matchup. Per his comments, the former Riott Squad member did well when it came down to competition but she isn’t ready, yet for the top place.
“I thought she performed well against Becky, the match was good. I just don’t think Liv, in my opinion, is ready for that spot just yet. Not from an in-ring standpoint. It’s more from a character standpoint and working on her character and working on her ability on the microphone, I don’t think she’s quite there yet. To be at that level, to carry the women’s division just yet.”
WWE Raw Superstar Liv Morgan Was Supposed To Be Liv Gallows
Over on the January 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, Doudrop became the new number-one contender to Becky by winning a Triple Threat Match that also featured Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair. Doudrop pinned Liv in order to solidify her spot at Royal Rumble 2022. This upcoming title bout will be Doudrop’s second-only title match in the WWE while for the time being, Liv will have to go back to the line when it comes to the championship.
