Since Randy Orton is very much active on Raw, it’s safe to say that Randy Orton will break Kane’s record later this year or next year. For the time being, he may just continue to work with the former United States Champion in this brand new tag team just to elevate the newbie’s status. Apparently, he was the one who wanted to work with Riddle in a program.

WWE had plans to drag the feud between Riddle and Sheamus following WrestleMania 37. But those plans were thrown out of the window right around the next night. Riddle received a singles contest against Randy Orton and he eventually secured an upset win over the Apex Predator of the WWE. Afterward, the two went ahead to form a tag team.
According to Fightful Select, The Viper was in favor of this program which helped the creative team to push it forward.

Ringside News previously reported that Randy Orton has a certain amount of pull, backstage. Obviously, this wish paid off well for Riddle as he got the chance to work with the future Hall of Famer. We will have to see how WWE intends to book the feud in the future.
