WWE News: Randy Orton To Enter Huge Championship Feud On Smackdown
Jun 11, 2019 at 1:04 PM
Randy Orton has featured in a huge matchup at bygone WWE Super ShowDown against his former nemesis, Triple H. The Game was the favorite to come out as the winner from the match. But The Viper came out as the winner with an ‘RKO outta nowhere’ that was a big surprise from the Saudi Arabia show. There may be a reason why WWE handed the win to him.
Smackdown storylines should be a big concern as to why the WWE creative team awarded the match outcome to Randy Orton. Going by a recent tweet from him, he is likely to begin a championship feud on Tuesday Nights that may go through the summer of 2019. He dropped a potential hint of what could be next in his career as Stomping Grounds approaches.
Huge Championship Change Took Place On WWE Raw
The Apex Predator of the WWE has posted a tweet claiming that he may be coming after the Intercontinental Championship on Smackdown. This is the first title that Randy Orton won after joining the main roster. He probably has the mindset of having the mid-card title back. Hence, we should be ready to see him going after Balor when Smackdown Live airs.
And @FinnBalor for that matter. First title I ever won is around his waist. Maybe I want it back. https://t.co/r3B0yKuTuS

Now it makes much sense why Randy Orton picked up the win against his mentor at Super ShowDown. Following this win, he may end up picking up the Intercontinental title that could be a strategy to keep him happy. The time is approaching when his WWE deal will expire in the fall of 2019. This win may force him to consider renewal of the deal, sooner.
As for Finn Balor, he returned with the Demon persona at Super ShowDown while defending the Intercontinental Championship. Andrade could have been a big contender for the title as the post-Wrestlemania season kicked off. But the clean pinfall loss at Super ShowDown might have put him away from the title picture for good.
So Finn Balor had a new opponent coming towards him anyway when Smackdown airs. But he probably did not expect Randy Orton on his way. After all, this could be the biggest rivalry of his career in the form of a thirteen-time world champion. Orton was reportedly going after Aleister Black in the coming weeks. But WWE may have shifted their plans in order to provide a fresh feud on the blue brand.
