WWE Superstar Paige has become a sensation on Twitch channel ever since the lockdown period started due to the coronavirus pandemic. She was having a good time while interacting with fans until a new edict suddenly dropped from WWE. The released statement made it clear that WWE wants to pursue outside services as a company and they don’t want a talent doing it individually.
During her latest stream, Paige made some changes to her Twitch account as WWE wanting talents under their contract to stop using third party formats, like Twitch and Cameo. Paige her channel had to be renamed from “OfficialPaigeWWE” to “SarayaOfficial.” She also noted on her stream that she’ll be changing her graphics to comply with the rule.
Reason Paige Might Be Forced To Stop Her Twitch Stream By WWE
Paige would have simply used the word “Saraya,” but she added “somebody stole that name” taking a jab at the WWE. She didn’t want to change her name on Twitch, obviously but it was a loophole she was looking for to get rid of WWE’s new ban on third-party activity. However, that’s reportedly not going to be good enough.
WWE Hottie Chelsea Green Trolls Fans Over RETRIBUTION Connection
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that after Paige changed her Twitch name to Saraya, going by her real name, WWE said “that’s not going to fly.” So this would eventually force the youngest Divas Champion of all-time to leave the platform, at one point. She isn’t the only Superstar in this unhappy situation, though.
“When Paige switched one of her things [Twitch] to Saraya they were like ‘That’s not gonna fly’ because it’s still banned I guess. Anyway, we’ll see how this plays out over the next whatever, I mean most of the talent is not happy from what I gather.” (transcription by Ringside News)
During a recent Twitch stream, Paige mentioned herself to be the Queen Of Twitch and also made it clear that she’s not leaving. The first-ever NXT Women’s Champion loves this community and said “I don’t know what I would do without Twitch.” However, that could matter the least to WWE.
Paige has already earned a ton of followers on Twitch who pay to watch her streaming sessions and communicate with her. If this gets closed some people will obviously be upset about this situation, especially the fans of the anti-Diva. But Vince McMahon would barely consider this to be the cause lift the ban on third-party platforms.
