Reason Why Women Main-Evented WWE Survivor Series 2019 1

In the main event of WWE Survivor Series 2019, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler defeated SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

It was a surprising step taken by WWE creative since they did have a lot of alternative choices on the match card to choose the marquee match.

The men’s division traditional tag team elimination match or the Universal or even the WWE Championship match could have been a good choice.

All of them were executed in a great way which blurred the main event match performance, anyway.

As noted by many of the outlets, the Survivor Series main event did not live up to the expectations.

The performance as well as the finish appeared to be really dud and left the Chicago fans wondering why they’d do so.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the women superstars main-evented Survivor Series because WWE wanted to give Shayna Baszler, a big moment.

As reported previously, this woman is slated to get a big push after coming to the main roster, shortly. The gear-up process has just begun via Survivor Series closure,

“They wanted to end the show with Shayna. Shayna is really high on their list of things and people they want to push as stars.

They felt that Becky is the biggest star so she could go on last and I think they expected from the build because of all the three-ways that certainly had the best build that it would get the most reaction and it didn’t.

I mean reasoning, I can see the reasoning why they put it last, but it didn’t work in that position, unfortunately.”

However, the moment for Shayna Baszler did not turn out to be pretty big since NXT was already leading the score.

The worst-case scenario would be Bayley winning at Survivor Series and this would’ve resulted in a tie between SmackDown and NXT. If Becky Lynch would have won then also NXT would get the win.

With not much on the line, the performance in this match fell flat as well as the whole execution. According to WrestleVotes, Vince McMahon was also left disappointed by this match.

After the contest was done, he was probably thinking that every time the women’s Evolution won’t appear to be handy to close out a show.
