Renee Young had an eight-year run in WWE via which she left an incredible mark. Some people genuinely think that she’s the most popular professional wrestling broadcaster, ever. Now the pretty face who also put tons of hard work in her workplace can’t be seen in the WWE as she left the company in August of this year.
But during her time with the company, she accomplished a lot. Quite obviously, some fans wondered if she would ever step into the ring since it’s the wrestling business. But that wasn’t the case. Renee Young recently spoke on the “Getting Over” podcast, where she touched down several topics. One of the questions was related to her getting physical as she was involved in a WWE storyline.

Revealed: Why Renee Young Never Wrestled In WWE?
During the podcast, she was asked if she ever wanted to compete inside that squared circle. Renee Young was also asked if WWE ever pitched her an idea that would have transitioned her role to a big extent. While many fans might be thinking of a positive answer in this context, that’s not the reality, here.

Renee Young said that she believes WWE had no intention of ‘wasting her role’ as an announcer or talk show host. They wanted her to use her on that role only. The interesting part is that she was ready to do something physical if a proper storyline called for it, as she was always open to doing multidimensional things. But it was WWE who never wanted to do something else apart from her hosting gig.
“So, I was always down to do something. Anything, whether it’s a storyline, whether it involves physicality. I played sports. I was such a tomboy growing up. I wasn’t like a fragile little thing. Like, I will get in there and get dirty and get scraped up, I’m not afraid of that.
The way that I see it anyways, I think with the success I was able to have with WWE as just a broadcaster and as a personality, I think that the higher-ups in WWE valued what I brought to the table. They were afraid of tarnishing that by letting me get involved in the storylines and not be taken so seriously, or to be made the butt-end of a joke or something.”
Since her WWE departure, Renee Young is involved in various projects that she was unable to do while being with the WWE. This is the same reason that she wanted to leave the business, three years ago. But it was the head honchos of the WWE who wanted her to stay assuring her that a bright future could be waiting for her. At the end of the day, she wasn’t happy and opted to leave, anyway.
