Proving the rumors true, Rhea Ripley finally turned on her tag team partner, Liv Morgan, on this week’s episode of Raw. The heel-turn came after Ripley and Morgan came up short against Sasha Banks and Naomi over the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

In the early part of the match, Rhea Ripley literally dominated the bout who could have won after planting Sasha with a Riptide on the barricade outside the ring, followed by another Riptide on Naomi inside the ring.

Sasha broke the pinfall attempt and took out Morgan after which The Boss ‘N’ Glow Connection put down Rhea Ripley with a combined offense to secure the pinfall win. After the match, Ripley blamed Morgan for the loss before attacking her former tag team partner. She eventually hit a Riptide on Liv after a beatdown before walking out with a sadistic smile.

In an update to the situation, this heel turn could lead to an interesting singles division matchup in the near future. Rhea Ripley could very well be on a collision course with Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship and that may end up happening at WrestleMania Backlash 2022.

Rhea Ripley could challenge Bianca Belair for Raw Women’s Title

Dave Meltzer discussed the turn on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio and indicated that the current challenger Sonya Deville may not remain on the same spot by the time the next premium live event arrives,

“That’s why they’re doing Sonya Deville right now. If you notice, the Sonya Deville thing was supposed to be on the pay-per-view and they moved it up a couple of weeks to be on TV next week. So, maybe that’s to move Rhea Ripley into that spot sooner. But, Rhea Ripley right now, because of Bianca Belair and everything like that, she should be a heel right now.”

The discussion makes it clear that WWE doesn’t want to stick around with the Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair top program only if and when Lynch returns. For the time being, Sonya Deville and Rhea Ripley could be the top heel challengers. But things could change when Big Time Becks gets back into the mix.

In more news, Rhea Ripley has also been speculated to join Edge’s dark stable on RAW. With The Nightmare finally turning heel, there’s a realistic possibility of her joining the WWE Hall of Famer and Damian Priest to make them look even stronger.
