Roman Reigns is the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion who holds both the WWE and Universal Championships. That being said, his God Mode has truly been unleashed as he is now eyeing to unify some more titles in the WWE. Plus, he will be in action at the upcoming big event in the WWE named Wrestlemania Backlash 2022. We now have an indication of who’ could possibly be his next opponent.
The latest bygone post-WrestleMania 38 edition of SmackDown on FOX from Milwaukee, Wisconsin saw the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns come to the ring with Paul Heyman and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos. He celebrated his WrestleMania 38 win over Brock Lesnar and reveal what’s next for his title reign.
Wrestlemania 38: Records Achieved By Roman Reigns At WWE PLE
Roman Reigns told Jey that he’d elevate him to new levels of greatness and there’s only one way to do that – unify the WWE Tag Team Titles. The Uso were ordered to go to RAW and bring him the RAW Tag Team Titles, currently held by Team RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle).
Roman Reigns may face a fresh opponent at Wrestlemania Backlash
After Roman Reigns hyped up The Usos for RAW, the music interrupted and Shinsuke Nakamura came out. Nakamura was taunted over how Rick Boogs suffered an injury at WrestleMania trying to take out both The Usos at the same time. Reigns then hugged Nakamura in the middle of the ring and said something which was inaudible to us. This seemed to confuse Nakamura as The Usos dropped Nakamura with a double-superkick.
This segment perhaps initiated a program between Roman Reigns and Shinsuke Nakamura, possibly targeting a future title match. Nakamura was originally involved in the tag team picture but with Boogs out of action, the Japanese superstars could possibly be involved in a top singles feud.
There’s no update yet on if WWE has plans for a Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Roman Reigns title match. But the match could possibly happen at WWE WrestleMania Backlash Premium Live Event that is scheduled for Sunday, May 8 in Providence, Rhode Island. At this point, Ronda Rousey vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in an “I Quit” bout has been made official for the PLE.
