Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar squared off in the biggest Wrestlemania match of all time. But the match was criticized by many due to a lame finish. Lesnar was pinned by Reigns after a sudden spear, a move that the fans felt hard to believe. After all, these two giants featured in several back-and-forth jaw-dropping encounters in the past.

Many believe that the finish went down in a hurried way while the latest reports indicate that the match went down as planned. WrestleMania Sunday was headlined by Universal Champion Roman Reigns defeating WWE Champion Brock Lesnar to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

There had been some speculations on Roman Reigns possibly suffering a shoulder injury during the match that may have led to a quicker finish. However, that may not be the case, according to Dave Meltzer on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast.

The veteran source noted that Roman Reigns did not suffer an injury but he was selling his shoulder after getting punished by the Kimura Lock. That being said, that match went down as it was planned and laid out. The bout also ended in a way that it should have gone down, at around 12 minutes of in-ring competition between two top superstars of the WWE.

Ringside News also asked around about the situation and they were told that, “no one knows the truth” regarding the clarity of the situation outside of “Roman Reigns, Heyman Heyman and Usos.” Brock Lesnar also keeps his situation to himself as well. Hence, outside those primary people, Vince McMahon “and maybe Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis” may have been aware of how things have gone down.

A tenured member of the creative team informed the source that, “we’ve asked, since we’re planning Backlash, and Vince didn’t answer either way.” Pat Buck, one of the producers of the Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns match could have been aware of the bygones, as well but he left the company right after Wrestlemania 38.

Lesnar remains absent from WWE TV, for the time being, while Roman Reigns is rumored to be involved in a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura over what happened on this past Friday’s post-WrestleMania SmackDown.
