In the main event of WWE Clash at the Castle 2022, Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre to retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. It was a hellacious battle that ended via an unexpected help towards the champion from The Usos’ brother Solo Sikoa. The interference also stirred controversy around the championship retention made by the champion.
After Clash at the Castle went off the air, Roman Reigns was interviewed by the media in the global press conference held to shed light on the bygone PLE. Before the champion appeared, WWE’s head of the creative team, Triple H announced that The Tribal Chief wasn’t interested in answering too many questions. He was asked about the wild UK crowd but he sat in silence for some time.

Roman Reigns then requested that the media should acknowledge him because the 62,000+ fans denied doing so in Cardiff during Clash at the Castle. There was a point in between the match when he took the mic and ordered the crowd to do so and ended up receiving major boos. Owing to this, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion opted to walk away from the conference without taking any more questions.
WWE Clash At The Castle 2022: Roman Reigns Targeted By Top Superstar After PLE
Roman Reigns was rescued by Solo Sikoa at Clash at the Castle
The ending moments at Clash at the Castle witnessed Roman Reigns connecting with a Superman Punch but Drew kicked out at one. He then leveled Drew with two massive Spears but the challenger continued to kick out of those. The audience of the Principality Stadium heavily backed up Drew as it appeared he was moments away from the victory after connecting with a Claymore Kick.
This was when the new Bloodline member Solo Sikoa (younger brother of The Usos) arrived at ringside and pulled out the referee off the ring. With the referee down, Sikoa delivered an assault on Drew. Roman Reigns capitalized on the opportunity and then hit the third Spear of the match for the pinfall victory to continue with his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign.
With this win, Roman Reigns now stands on the 735th day of his ongoing title reign that started all the way back in Payback 2020 on August 30. Tyson Fury confronted him after the successful title defense at Clash at the Castle and it could be likely that these two are on a collision course after the PLE.
