Ronda Rousey joined the WWE as a special attraction and she was never supposed to be a regular feature on television. However, WWE did put her on regular TV on Monday Night Raw following immense success during her first stint with the company. Later, family became her priority and it also caused the downfall of her career.

The final match featuring Ronda Rousey took place at SummerSlam 2023 and it thereby marked the end the former UFC champion’s tenure in the WWE. In a recent interview, she reflected on her journey with the WWE and cited the challenges of balancing motherhood with her professional career which turned out to be the reason to leave the sport.

“It’s just not a lifestyle that I can continue while being a mom, you know? I was on the road 18 months with my baby and it was just nothing that we could sustain forever,” Ronda Rousey stated on Good Morning America.

After giving birth to her daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne in September 2021, Ronda Rousey made a triumphant return to the WWE by winning the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match. After a three-year hiatus, her booking wasn’t up to the mark and she ultimately stopped making appearances after SummerSlam 2023 following the loss to Shayna Baszler in the first MMA Rules match.

Ronda Rousey doesn’t want to return to the WWE

Expressing her thoughts on the future, Ronda Rousey has recently been vocal regarding her criticism of WWE and its former chairman, Vince McMahon. Even after McMahon departed from the company in January of this year, she remained skeptical about a return as she stated the following, “Not unless things drastically change with how things are run there and so I highly doubt it.”

After leaving the WWE, Ronda Rousey made a couple of appearances in the indie scene. Initially, she teamed up with Marina Shafir to face Athena and Billie Starkz in a tag team match at the Wrestling REVOLVER: UNREAL event.

This led to her presence at the November 17 ROH tapings in Los Angeles, California at the Inglewood Forum in AEW where she teamed up with Marina Shafir to take on Athena & Billie Starkz. For the time being, this remains the last wrestling match for Ronda Rousey.
