On Night One of WrestleMania 38, Ronda Rousey made Charlotte Flair tap out to the armbar submission maneuver. But the referee was knocked out at that time after digesting a spear from Flair.
Ronda Rousey then tried to wake the referee up and announce her to be the winner. But Flair took advantage of the situation, hit her opponent with a Big Boot, and pinned her to retain her title.
Moving on, the challenger kicked off this past edition of SmackDown after WrestleMania 38 and challenged Flair to an “I Quit” Match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Flair appeared on the titantron and denied the challenge.
However, WWE’s social media pages have made the “I Quit” bout between Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania Backlash 2022.
Apart from this program, for the first time ever, WWE is reportedly planning Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler on Smackdown programming for a tag team match, according to Andrew Zarian. Shayna is a former UFC fighter who is also known to be one of the best friends of Ronda. Both of them were part of the Four Horsewomen of MMA along with Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke.

WWE recently released footage of Ronda Rousey training with Shayna for her WrestleMania 38 match and used it in their storylines. So it makes sense that there’s a high chance for them competing as a tag team on WWE TV as WWE is acknowledging their past history as a team. There’s no update on who these two might end up facing in the future.

In more news, Ronda Rousey has also featured in a dark match against Charlotte Flair during the post Wrestlemania 38 Smackdown episode on FOX. The finish saw Charlotte attempting the Figure-eight but Ronda reversed it into an ankle lock. Charlotte broke it by getting to the rope. She rolled under the ring and grabbed her title. Charlotte walked out of the match to provide Ronda with the count-out victory and avoid a pinfall or submission loss.
After the match, Charlotte attacked Ronda Rousey from behind but the latter Ronda grabbed Charlotte’s arm and put her in Piper’s Pit followed by the armbar to which Charlotte immediately tapped out.
