In the absence of some top WWE Superstars, a lot of brand invasions have been spotted in time for Royal Rumble 2022. Brock Lesnar is back on Raw from Smackdown after gaining the WWE Championship back at WWE Day 1 PPV. Plus, Raw Superstar Seth Rollins is slated to challenge Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the title in a top match from Smackdown.
It is certain that WWE is forced to use the Monday Night Messiah on the blue brand in the absence of Drew McIntyre. But WWE also has some long-term plans with him as he could become the next world champion on the blue brand at Royal Rumble 2022, as per the recent reports. This will ensure that the Universal Champion arrives on Monday Night Raw.

Dave Meltzer revealed on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is planning to put the Universal Championship on Seth Rollins at Royal Rumble 2022. Brock Lesnar, who is set to face Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship, will retain his title. This indicates that Roman Reigns will go on to face Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 for the WWE Championship.
Big title change expected at Royal Rumble 2022
In more news from the report, Meltzer added that if Rollins ends up becoming the new Universal Champion, then the two world titles will switch brands. Rollins is part of Monday Night RAW and he will carry the red strapped belt on the red brand show. In turn, Brock Lesnar will continue his feud with Roman Reigns on Smackdown and thereby keep the WWE title on Friday nights following Royal Rumble 2022,
“I was kind of told it’s gonna end up where it’s supposed to be. So I wonder if that means they’re gonna switch belts, like the Universal belt with Seth goes on RAW and the WWE belt that Roman would end up most likely, I’m gonna guess but Brock would have, would be on SmackDown,” he added. Previously, reports also claimed that Seth Rollins was originally supposed to win the WWE Title at Day 1 while Roman Reigns was supposed to drop the Universal Title. The plans were changed as Roman wasn’t able to compete that night due to COVID-19.
