Royal Rumble 2023: Infamous WWE Record-Holder Declares Entry For Women’s Rumble

One of the top female superstars from the Smackdown roster, Liv Morgan has declared her entry to the Women’s Royal Rumble 2023 match. The announcement came on the January 6 episode of WWE SmackDown where she had not only thrown down the gauntlet by declaring her entry but also declared her intentions to enter the match in the number-one spot that’s to be the first entrant of the match.

The interesting thing is that Morgan has competed in each of the Women’s Rumble matches, to date, starting with the first-ever edition in 2018 in Philadelphia. A year later, she scored the dubious record of becoming the woman to spend the shortest time in a Rumble match.

Liv Morgan’s record from 2019 Royal Rumble

In the 2019 edition that was won by Becky Lynch, Morgan only lasted for eight seconds before she was eliminated by Natalya. Back then, Morgan was still involved with The Riott Squad faction alongside Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan. In the Royal Rumble 2023 match, she is coming to erase that bitter memory.

Morgan has quite the year in 2022 as she ended up winning the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match back in July. On that same night, she went on to successfully cash in on Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, marking the first-ever championship win for her in the WWE.

Morgan then went on to hold the title for 98 days before ultimately dropping it back to Rousey at the Extreme Rules premium live event back in October. Now, she is focused on claiming back the title by winning the Royal Rumble 2023 match. She is also the first and only female superstar to have entered the fray.

Apart from Morgan, Santos Escobar and Ricochet were both confirmed to be in the men’s Royal Rumble 2023 match during this week’s Smackdown. Ricochet beat Top Dolla to earn his spot in a contender’s match while Escobar also defeated Kofi Kingston but not in a qualifier.
