There have been a lot of chatters about the status of Sasha Banks over the past couple of months. It all started with a walk-out by her and the other half of the then-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Naomi on an episode of WWE Raw, on a night where they were supposed to feature in the main event match.
There’s no confirmed update available on whether Sasha Banks is still associated with the WWE or not but now, she has been officially announced for the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) in August.

“Please join us in welcoming our next C2E2 guest, Mercedes Varnado (Sasha Banks)!” the C2E2 Twitter account posted an update regarding the appearance. “Whether you’ve seen her in the ring or as Koska Reeves in ‘The Mandalorian’, you are not going to want to miss out on this Photo and Autograph opportunity!”
As reported by FightFul Select, several WWE talents are under the impression that Sasha Banks is indeed gone from the WWE. The members of WWE Creative are also reportedly operating under the assumption that The Boss is done with the company. Outlets like WrestlingINC and WrestleVotes also hinted that the multi-time women’s champion has been released last month from her WWE contract.

Sasha Banks’ official WWE status is yet to be announced
There’s still no official update available regarding Sasha Banks’ latest status. Neither WWE nor the superstar herself has offered anything regarding the same. After she and Naomi reportedly left their titles on John Laurinaitis’ desk back in May, the titles were declared vacant. Since then, the relationship between the two parties hasn’t improved,
Recent reports also claimed that Sasha Banks and Naomi were reportedly removed from WWE’s internal roster. In the latest announcement on C2E2’s official website, Sasha Banks was mentioned but it’s notable she has primarily been addressed by her real name of Mercedes Varnado.
Also, none of the expo’s promotional material has mentioned her association with the WWE by name, possibly since the instructions have come from the superstar. No other current WWE Superstars are scheduled to appear at the convention but several WWE Hall of Famer like Lita, Mick Foley, and Trish Stratus are booked to make appearances. In due course, more names could be announced for the event.
