Like every year, the annual PWI 500 list for 2023 is out and Seth Rollins has expectedly topped it for his workhorse character. Being the reigning World Heavyweight Champion of the WWE, he’s working relentlessly even with a bruised back and that earned him perhaps the most pleasant reward that he could have expected at this juncture.

The Pro Wrestling Illustrated outlet has a long history of publication of its annual rankings for professional wrestlers and the 2023 edition has recently been unveiled to name Seth Rollins the number-one professional wrestler of the year. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns ranked second in the list while Jon Moxley FKA Dean Ambrose in WWE ranked third.

With that, the three former Shield members had quite the reunion on the chart. Besides Seth Rollins solely achieved an incredible record to match up to his predecessor in the WWE, John Cena. As pointed out by multiple accounts on X, both these two superstars have ranked number one in the list on three separate occasions.

Spoiler On Roman Reigns’ Next Undisputed WWE Universal Title Defense

Seth Rollins has previously topped the annual PWI rankings in 2015 and 2019 while The Cenation Leader secured the number one position in 2006, 2007, and 2013. The duo has a tremendous history when the latter used to be full-timers in the WWE. Most recently, they teamed up at Superstar Spectacle in India in a tag team match to defeat Imperium members.

Seth Rollins excited about Becky Lynch’s NXT title win

While Seth Rollins is having quite a good time on Raw, he’s also very much thrilled to see his wife Becky Lynch become a Grand Slam Champion by capturing the only title that she never had in the WWE WWE, the NXT Women’s Championship. Tiffany Stratton lost the title after succumbing to the Manhandle Slam of Lynch, a moment that’s been a discussed topic for pro-wrestling fans.

“Say what you want about Tiffany Stratton — she brought it, man. She brought the fight, she was an honorable champion in that match. They went toe-to-toe [and] the better woman won. That’s just how it is. It’s nice … it’s been a minute since we both held titles in the house. So, it feels good to be a championship family one more time!” Seth Rollins expressed his joy on WWE’s The Bump about Becky Lynch’s title win.
