Despite the number-games in her favor, Alexa Bliss failed to capitalize on the champion on Smackdown. After the huge tag-team win on Raw, Smackdown women’s champion received a chance of redemption via a singles competition on the show. She took full advantage of it picking up the win.
Shane McMahon-Drew McIntyre Assaulted The Miz on Smackdown
It was none other than Nikki Cross i.e. buddy of Alexa Bliss who challenged Bayley in a non-title match on Smackdown. Initially, Cross overpowered her with some punches and an inverted DDT. But Bayley backfired with a running knee in the corner, followed by a rolling splash. Alexa Bliss wanted to help Cross by distracting the champ. But she ignored her to hit a top rope elbow to get the big win on the show.
It was last week when WWE arranged a new number one contender’s match for the Smackdown women’s championship. Two of the regular roster members of the show Carmella and Charlotte Flair competed in it alongside Raw superstar, Alexa Bliss. It was surprising to see that Miss Bliss actually ended up winning the match and thereby receive a title match at the Stomping Grounds PPV night.
Cut to this week’s Raw, Alexa Bliss received Lacey Evans as her tag team partner on the show. She did miss the Twisted Bliss move off the top rope. But Lacey was in tremendous form who put down Bayley with a Women’s Right. Thus, the challenger for the Raw women’s title also pinned the Smackdown women’s champion. So, WWE.com predicted a comeback from Bayley on Smackdown,
“The Hugger arrived on the red brand to join forces with Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch to square off with their respective Stomping Grounds opponents — Alexa Bliss and Lacey Evans — in a champions vs. challengers tag team battle.
Unfortunately, Bayley came out on the short end, as The Sassy Southern Belle defeated her after knocking the champion out with a Woman’s Right. Can The Hugger bounce back as she prepares to battle The Goddess at WWE Stomping Grounds? Find out tonight on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!”
Well, the prediction turned out to be true as Bayley picked up a huge win over Alexa Bliss’ buddy on last night’s Smackdown.
