John Cena will be heading to movie shooting following Summerslam

Focusing on his acting career, John Cena has been away from WWE TV since losing the Firefly Fun House Match to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. Currently, he is free from filming procedures as Director James Gunn confirmed on Twitter this week that filming on “The Peacemaker” for HBO Max has officially wrapped in Vancouver in the first week of July.

Spoiler On John Cena's WWE Return For Mega Summerslam 2021 Match 2

There was some speculation on John Cena’s WWE return after last week it was announced for the new “Argylle” movie franchise. The first film in the franchise will begin filming in Europe this August. Now, multiple sources noted that the filming of “Argylle” in Europe next month will not affect the return and a match at SummerSlam. But he may just have to quickly leave after the PPV.

That being said, John Cena won’t be the one to defeat Roman Reigns for the Universal Title on August 21. As he headed to the UK for Argylle shoot, The Peacemaker series will go for editing studios as it eyes a January 22 release. It will feature 8 episodes in the first season with Cena in the lead role. He previously mentioned that the shooting was the reason why he missed WrestleMania 37 in April.
