We have already reported that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be in attendance for WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden. As the flagship show occurs with the September 9th edition, the WWE Hall of Famer & former 6-time WWF Champion will be a special attraction for the audience. This will be the second time in 2019 that the legendary superstar will make his presence felt on the hottest Monday Night program.

The backstage planning on his return is out courtesy of a report from a reliable source. According to The Dirty Sheets, WWE officials have reached out Stone Cold Steve Austin if he would be open to digest an attack by the “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt during this WWE Raw appearance. It will be similar to how The Fiend attacked other Hall of Famers like Mick Foley, Kurt Angle & Jerry Lawler, before making a statement on TV.

There’s no positive update available whether Stone Cold Steve Austin has said yes to the idea. But he did not shoot it out, completely, too. This still leaves a chance of seeing The Texas Rattlesnake being dismantled by the new monster arrived on WWE Raw. The source continued saying that there’s a pretty good chance that something like this could happen on the show to put over The Fiend Bray Wyatt. Here’s more from the source, (via wwfoldschool.com)
“This is big. Austin usually sh*ts on everything, however, this time he’s talking. Thus far, it is believed that Austin is okay with the idea, as he’s gone as far as discussing the idea. He has even requested some offense if he goes ahead with it- which isn’t going to be an issue for Bray.
While some may think it’s egotistical for Austin to ask for anything – while Foley and Angle willingly put Bray over – these people don’t understand how protective Austin is over his legacy. Over the past 3 years, talks between the WWE and Austin have got nowhere near reaching a point where Austin has been willing to take a bump for anyone. So this is major progress.
Austin pretty gave up on his in-ring return when the WWE squashed a WrestleMania 32 match with Brock Lesnar – a match that both guys desperately wanted. Before this, the WWE also squashed a CM Punk vs. Austin match at WrestleMania 29, not wanting to over-spend on talent, with The Rock and Lesnar (on his original $5 million deal) already on board. It is believed that Austin wanted both matches, and was also willing to look up at the lights for both.”
If Stone Cold Steve Austin does agree to feature in the segment with The Fiend then it could be huge for his career. Before this, Austin has not done anything like this to make a character strong by sacrificing himself. But this one could be special as the fans believe the reinvented persona of Wyatt is the best thing happening in the WWE. So a veteran like him will understand why the officials want him to take the beatdown. To know more on this, we have to wait until next week’s Raw which airs from the infamous Madison Square Garden.
