Tenille Dashwood was released by WWE in 2017
WWE Universe might recognize Tenille Dashwood better as Emma. She was the woman who made it to the finals to crown the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion. But she is no longer with the company. She was suddenly released in 2017 after jobbing to Asuka in the latter’s first two singles matches on the main roster.
Frustrations with WWE were brewing for Tenille Dashwood even before she lost twice to Asuka. There were plenty of people who were lining up to make a statement while Emma was lost in the mix. Tenille later spoke to AMBY about her struggles in WWE and waiting for a turn for her opportunity which never really came around.
“I love wrestling. It’s in my blood. I’ve been wrestling since I was young, and I look at the other girls and they tell that story too like Bayley and Sasha. You know I actually came from Australia and I didn’t have anything behind me. So I just wanted to show what my side of it, my passion for wrestling. Everything comes around and everything happens for a reason.”
