Tessa Blanchard has been one of the top free agents in the professional wrestling world for the past couple of years. Her name comes up often when it comes to top prospects for future signing in WWE or AEW. Reports previously claimed that both the companies consider her to be nuclear. Proving those rumors true, she isn’t likely to show up in either of those companies as now she is with the WOW all-female wrestling promotion.
As first reports by Fightful Select, Tessa Blanchard will return to WOW Women of Wrestling. She the first major talent associated with the brand’s re-launch. Then during the actual launch ceremony announcement, it was revealed that former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee will also be associated with the campaign as one of the executive producers for the project.
Neither WWE Nor AEW Interested In Signing Tessa Blanchard
ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group announced a multi-year distribution deal with WOW, this past week. The women’s wrestling promotion is owned by Los Angeles Laker owner Jeanie Buss and created by David McLane. New episodes of WOW will launch in weekend syndication beginning in the fall of 2022, according to a press release.
WOW World Champion The Beast and former champion Tessa Blanchard will lead the roster while more of the names for the project will be announced in due course. Both these women attended the press ceremony and the latter name looked absolutely stunning in her latest public appearance after a long hiatus. You can check out some of the photos of her from the WOW media conference hosted by the promotion in Los Angeles, California.
Tessa Blanchard returning to wrestling with WOW
Tessa Blanchard has a previous connection with the WOW promotion. She was World Champion in WOW from the February 15, 2019 episode until dropping the title to The Beast on the November 23, 2019, episode. It was then announced last summer that the deal between WOW and AXS TV fell through and the series wasn’t renewed, until this year.
Following the WOW announcement, Tessa Blanchard has dropped some new merchandise to borrow from Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net’s original report about how she is considered to be a neutral talent in WWE and AEW. This new shirt simply says “nuclear” written on it alongside the trademark diamond logo.
