Bright talents, The IIconics were released by the WWE, earlier this year as a result of COVID-19 pandemic-related budget cuts. This was a piece of shocking news as several top superstars like Braun Strowman, Lana, and more were released along with them. Now the former champions in the WWE have found their next destination in the professional wrestling world.

Under the name of The IInspiration, The IIconics – Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay (previously known as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in WWE) are making their way to Impact Wrestling. Just as this week’s Knockouts Knockdown was closing, it was revealed in a video (below) that Lee and McKay will make their first appearance at Impact Wrestling’s Bound For Glory PPV on Saturday, October 23.

As noted above, The IIconics were released by the WWE during the second massive round of budget cuts in April of this year. Following that, the two women expressed how they would always want to remain as a tag team no matter where they sign up, next. Apart from The IIconics, former WWE Superstar Mercedes Martinez is also with the Impact promotion and she has secured a future Knockouts Championship shot after winning the entire Knockouts Knockdown Tournament, this week. She’ll receive her title opportunity after Deonna Purrazzo and Mickie James battle for the championship at Bound For Glory in two weeks.

The IIconics had their dream jobs in WWE

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, one half of The IIconics, Peyton Royce talked about her love for WWE as a teenager. She has always wanted to be part of this company during her childhood days and hence the release caused a mental breakdown for her,

“I was so vocal about my dreams as a kid, and I kind of got bullied for that,” Royce said. “Because you’re right, it sounds crazy and it sounds like it cannot be done. But I don’t know what it was. I was just born with this thing, this instinct inside of me that said ‘I’m going to get what I want, no matter what. I will not let anything stop me from achieving my goal.’ And it was, it was always WWE. I didn’t want anything else. I would pray at night to achieve my dreams.”
