The Rock is perhaps the busiest entertainer on this planet and he is receiving yet another accolade for his contributions to his genre. The former WWE Champion is set to officially become The People’s Champion which is also a gimmick related to his WWE career.
NBC and E have recently announced that The Rock will receive The People’s Champion Award at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards set to take place on December 7 in Hollywood.

Real-name Dwayne Johnson, the former WWE Superstar is a 15-time PCA nominee and 2-time winner. As noted, he will be recognized for his contributions to the entertainment industry, entrepreneurial endeavors, and his unwavering commitment to supporting children and families in need through multiple partnerships. The People’s Champion Award was given to Tyler Perry, last year.
Apart from this award confirmation, The Rock has also been nominated for three People’s Choice Awards this year – Male Movie Star of the Year for Jungle Cruise, Male TV Star of the Year for Young Rock, and Social Star of the Year. Online fan voting has already been wrapped up for the 40 PCA categories in late November.

WWE celebrated The Rock’s 25th anniversary at the 34th annual Survivor Series pay-per-view at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Despite the speculations, The Great One didn’t appear on the show and WWE only showed top moments from his career.
They also host a 25-Man Battle Royal in honor of The Rock’s 25th anniversary, which was won by WWE RAW Superstar Omos. According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, the legendary WWE Superstar is outside of the United States to film a movie (possibly filming for the Young Rock) which was the reason behind the absence from Survivor Series.
