For a long time now, The Rock’s dream match, possibly his final one in the WWE has been in the works for some time now. Wrestlemania went to Hollywood, earlier this year and that seemed a perfect landing spot for the megastar to have that match to entertain the fans. However, the former franchise player of the WWE is still working full-time in Hollywood which prevented him from working in the show.

In recent times, there have been teases of The Rock on WWE TV and you can never count out that impending return since WWE is always considered to be his home. Plus, his daughter also works for the WWE under the NXT banner. Not to be mentioned, his cousins also run the WWE in the first place.

The Rock previously received an invitation from the up-and-coming Superstar Grayson Waller to show up at SmackDown. This happened after the two had a back-and-forth Twitter battle. Then, Waller went on to mention that Twitter beef on SmackDown. The brass heel called out The Great One to the WWE shows to get a rub from him. This did stir up a lot of attention among the fans as they were willing to know whether WWE does have any such plan in store featuring these two.

The Rock vs. Grayson Waller currently not in the works

Ringside News reached out to its source to know more about the situation and in return, a tenured member of the WWE creative team confirmed to them that, “as of now, there is nothing for Waller and Rock.” However, the source was also told that The Rock lacks “positive publicity” at this point and hence we can never rule out a return, down the road.

“Grayson Waller threw shade at The Rock during SmackDown. This raised a lot of attention. We are told that there is no current plan for Grayson Waller vs. The Rock. That being said, Rock is hurting for positive publicity, so there may be something in the works.”

The lack of positive publicity indicates the recent set of losses suffered by the WWE Superstar. The XFL lost money soon after re-debuting while Black Adam managed to gain the expected amount of profit. At the same time, Young Rock was canceled. So it could be the right time for The Brahma Bull to finally make the comeback on WWE TV to go viral, again.
