Toni Storm has been a renowned name in the independent circuit who eventually made her way to the big leagues of WWE to find even more success. She was one of the highlights of NXT UK, where she was able to become the NXT UK Women’s Champion. She also won the second Mae Young Classic edition before eventually moving to NXT where she featured in some solid feuds.
While WWE had never made Toni Storm a champion on the NXT brand, her main roster call raised hopes for her huge fanbase. Unfortunately, she was buried by top talents like Charlotte Flair before eventually getting released from the contract. Those months spent on Smackdown admittedly gave her a nightmare experience as she once thought of even leaving pro wrestling for good.
Following her WWE release, Toni Storm spoke up about the unwanted gestures received in the company in her final few days. It appears that she could have also experienced some old-school treatment of getting stripped in front of a live crowd but thankfully that never happened.

On an episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX back in November Toni Storm was pie-faced by Charlotte Flair. This was apparently done with the intention of embarrassing the former WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion so that a natural heel heat can be created for Charlotte Flair during the feud between the two superstars.

Toni Storm happy that she didn’t have to get stripped on WWE TV
Moving on, Toni Storm did get her revenge on The Queen, the week after but the storyline never truly paid off due to Storm’s decision to leave WWE. While speaking on AEW Unrestricted, the current AEW wrestler was asked about the pie-throwing segments in WWE as she revealed that the original plan called for Flair stripping her down to her underwear to humiliate her.
“The original idea was like, I was called up and asked if I was comfortable having my shirt ripped off or something. They wanted to do this whole angle where they wanted to rip my shirt off to be embarrassed, to my underwear, I guess. When you’re asked if you’re comfortable to do that and literally, people are being fired every single week, it’s like, ‘Well, yeah, I guess I’m comfortable with that,’” Toni Storm revealed.
The former WWE Superstar also noted how a lot of people, backstage had fought so that the idea couldn’t materialize, and hence getting pie-faced was a better treatment. Toni Storm really enjoyed that segment but that wasn’t obvious enough to stop her from quitting WWE at the end of 2021. She eventually ended up signing with AEW.
