Top 5 rumors of this week in WWE

Arindam Paul / 11 February 2016

WWE keeps providing us with rollercoaster rides and thoughts as always. While this time speculations should be around with the upcoming pay per view i.e. Fastlane, but it looks like poor storylines reduced the brightness of the event apart from the main event Triple threat match. So, the focus of the rumor mills shifted apart towards a big match, the Divas division and NXT. These topics are summed up as the top 5 rumors of the week. (courtesy

Next step for Becky and Sasha

Ever since Sasha Banks’ comeback, WWE is trying to put her as a singles competitor on the main roster splitting her up with Team BAD and making an ally with Becky Lynch. This alignment is for a short time to create a bigger fan base for Banks. As WWE universe loves Becky, they want to such fans to like Sasha as well to establish her as the next top babyface. Wrestlemania 32 will likely see a triple threat match among Becky, Sasha and Charlotte.

Reason for Brie Bella getting the sudden championship opportunity

It came as a surprise when Brie Bella got into the Divas title picture all of a sudden. There’s a feeling of some sympathy towards Nikki Bella, because of her neck surgery and current status and WWE wants to use the same to the fullest as the storyline of Total Divas. This would then turn into a storyline in Total Divas where Nikki’s neck surgery is supposed to be a big plot point. Brie’s title hunt will end at Fastlane and no planning is on for her at Wrestlemania.

NXT ending for Sami Zayn

The next NXT special event will apparently be the last one for the Canadian lad Zyan. The former NXT champion is finished with his days in the developmental brand and is all set to be called up in the main roster. Though, it is yet to be revealed if he will be a part of Wrestlemania or not. WWE had already presented him in the Royal Rumble match and he drew a huge pop from the crowd. Fellow stars Finn Balor and Samoa Joe too is all set to take over the main roster very soon.

Rumors regarding Nakamura

Internationally claimed Shinsuke Nakamura is in the news since after he had left New Japan pro Wrestling. He will finally appear at the NXT performance center this week and debut at NXT soon after. But however he will return to Japan once again before getting into the full mix. So as of now he will only be available for NXT only.

Big Match for Wrestlemania 32

Wrestlemania 32 will see the main event of Triple H going against Roman Reigns for the WWE world heavyweight championship. The main event can eventually change if John Cena makes an early recovery before Wrestlemania to set the blockbuster main event as he going against The Undertaker. Taker vs. Cena showdown would simply be epic but then again, it depends on how fast Cena recovers but it would also eliminate the idiotic move of booking Braun Strowman against Undertaker at the grandest stage of them all.
