Just a few days ago, multiple WWE NXT Superstars have been released from the contract to shock the professional wrestling world. Many of those names were regular features on NXT TV while another top talent has eagerly been waiting to get rid of the WWE.
Roderick Strong is the name who reportedly requested his WWE NXT release, but the company officials have forcefully factored him into upcoming creative plans.

The former WWE NXT North American Champion has requested his release “multiple times” in the past several months, according to Fightful Select. However, updates suggest that WWE has denied the request.
“Roderick Strong has asked for his WWE release ‘multiple times’ over the last several months.
We’re told that Strong has grown frustrated with many things over the past year within the company and had requested his release, which has been denied by WWE.”

WWE NXT Superstar’s contract could be frozen
According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, the top WWE NXT Superstar has two years left on his contract. If he opts to no-showing in the WWE then his deal could be frozen, as per the updates. The fact that his wife, Marina Shafir, and long-time associate Malcolm Bivens are also gone from the company, may have instigated him to express his will to quit.
“You can quit, but then they can freeze your deal, so that doesn’t really do you any good. He’s got a couple years left on his deal because he just signed last year before everything changed. His wife’s in AEW. His friends are in AEW. If you look at things from his perspective, things would look much brighter for him in AEW than WWE NXT.”
As noted, Strong’s wife, Marina Shafir, and his Undisputed Era friends (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly) are currently in AEW.
Strong reportedly re-signed with WWE NXT before The Diamond Mine stable debuted last year. Original plans involved Strong to be in the group with wife Marina Shafir, manager Malcolm Bivens, trainer Hideki Suzuki, Tyler Rust, and Arturo Ruas. But as you can see, Strong is the only member in contrast to that originally pitched idea and he is also the only one to be staying with the brand.
