Kevin Owens hasn’t been seen on WWE Raw in recent times due to a lack of relevant creative plans around him. Now he has picked up an injury that could push back his TV return depending on severe it would be diagnosed.
A WWE Raw house show took place this past Sunday night at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. At this event, former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens defeated Austin Theory. But during the match, he ended up suffering an injury.

A fan in attendance for the live event noted on Twitter that Owens might have hurt himself during this match:
“Just came from a live event in #WWEMadison, Kevin Owens planted his right knee and seems to have hurt it. Had to be helped out post-match by the referee, match wrapped up quick.”

According to the reports from Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, the top WWE Raw superstar suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee after taking an awkward bump on his leg during that match against Austin Theory.

Kevin Owens to be out of WWE Raw for six more months?
Meltzer noted in his report that “the way it was worded was that hopefully that is all the injury is with the idea it could be more than that.” Owens and Theory were able to finish up the match where the former WWE Universal Champion got a pinfall win over Theory after hitting him with a stunner. But he “needed help from the referee to get to the back” afterward.
Owens has reportedly suffered an MCL sprain and if that’s the case then he’s expected to be out of action on WWE Raw for 6 to 8 weeks. As noted above, the 38-year old-superstar hasn’t been seen on TV for the past few weeks because he doesn’t travel with the WWE roster to Saudi Arabia for WWE’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view event.
His last appearance on WWE television was on the September 30 episode of WWE Raw in a six-man tag team match where he teamed up with Johnny Gargano, and Drew McIntyre to defeat Theory and The Alpha Academy.
During his absence on TV, Owens used to be a regular name on WWE’s house shows in weekends. It was recently rumored via WrestleVotes that WWE had plans to reunite Owens with his off-screen buddy and former tag team partner Sami Zayn but that didn’t come to fruition.
