Last night’s WWE Smackdown had some bigger segments that affected the Summerslam match card to the maximum. But the headliner of them all was Trish Stratus coming back to the scene. The audience gave her a standing ovation as the greatest of all-time stepped her foot into the squared circle. Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler was ready to present the King’s Court in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee with the returnee.

A ‘one more match’ chant fired up inside the arena addressing the seven-time women’s champion. Charlotte Flair did not take long to come out and interrupt the segment who went on bashing the legend, right there. She claimed herself to be a trailblazer to which Trish Stratus responded saying there were blazes like her without whom there would not be any trails. Thereafter, Charlotte issued the Summerslam challenge that Trish accepted, readily confirming it’s happening.
WWE made a huge announcement for this week’s episode of Smackdown to promote the show to the biggest extent. In the midst of rumors of a Trish Stratus return, WWE creative booked her for last night’s episode. Additionally, veteran Jerry Lawler also received an opportunity to appear hosting a talk-show against the legendary female wrestler, (courtesy WWE.com)
“When the blue brand descends on The Home of the Blues this Tuesday night, Memphis’ own WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler will return to the blue brand to host a special edition of “The King’s Court.” And his royal guest will be none other than fellow Hall of Famer Trish Stratus! What will The King have in store for the seven-time Women’s Champion? We’ll find out tonight at 8/7 C on SmackDown LIVE.”

As mentioned earlier, rumors were all over the place around Trish Stratus. Summerslam is taking place in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and hence WWE has come to an agreement to let her make the comeback in a solo match. Charlotte Flair was the automatic choice as her opponent to set up a match where two greats of their generation collide to declare the supremacy. WWE did not change the plan as this dream contest will indeed happen as confirmed on last night’s Smackdown.
