There have been speculations about AJ Lee coming back to the WWE since CM Punk’s return in November last year. As he continues to grow a good reputation with the company following the comeback, discussions are heavily focused on his wife joining him on the WWE roster. Talks were reportedly initiated through Punk before Royal Rumble, but things didn’t materialise.

A rumour was going around suggesting that ‘despite ongoing efforts from WWE, AJ Lee wants a memorable return run rather than a one-time appearance.’ Upon investigating this topic, Sescoops reported that this was false information.

The source reached out to ask if there were any internal talks of bringing AJ Lee back into the fold. They were told that there is no talk in that direction which keeps her wrestling return uncertain. A tenured member within the company further noted the following,

“She’s very well liked, and respected. Just not a topic at the moment.”

CM Punk was introduced as “AJ Lee’s husband” during the WrestleMania conference in the T-Mobile Arena which fueled things up about the return of the former talent into the WWE fold. Plus, Punk himself also mentioned his wife a couple of times on television to stir things up but no actual efforts have been given in this regard.

AJ Lee retired from the WWE due to a back injury

It was on March 30, 2015, at the SAP Center in San Jose, California that AJ Lee, Naomi, and Paige defeated Natalya and The Bella Twins in a six-woman tag team match. That match marked AJ’s final outing in the ring to this date. Based on this update from a reliable source, it seems like that inspirational female talent won’t be ending her hiatus anytime soon.

For those who don’t remember, AJ Lee left WWE in 2015 due to ongoing back issues. Things weren’t smooth between her and the company for a long time since her husband was on bad terms with the WWE after receiving his release papers on their wedding day.

Following her WWE career, AJ Lee joined WOW as an Executive Producer for the company. Her involvement with WOW brought a lot of attention, but she did not compete for the company. Tessa Blanchard, who was utilized as one of the star powers of the company, had some disagreements with the ex-WWE Superstar during their time together and the two left the promotion shortly after.
