Ronda Rousey has been extending her stint as an actor while being away from the WWE, as of late. In recent times, she started filming for a set of Fox’s 9-1-1 series and ended up getting herself injured. She broke the fingers in a nasty manner, as per reports from TMZ that could have harmed her wrestling career. But the follow-up updates suggest that she might be doing okay, after all.

As per the sources, Ronda Rousey reportedly broke two of her fingers (middle and ring fingers) while filming scenes in Mexico, last week. The incident occurred when she was going to slam a door during an action sequence.
“She was a little over-exuberant and slammed the door on her finger,” TMZ informed.

Here’s more from how her fingers were damaged from a report via wrestlingINC.com,

“The middle finger suffered the worst of the injury as the tendon was nearly severed. She also fractured the tip of her ring finger. Rousey was taken by ambulance to a San Diego hospital for treatment. Her middle finger was reportedly repaired with a bolt and screws.”

But Ronda Rousey proved her nickname ‘the baddest woman on the planet’ to be true by returning to work the very next day with that ruptured finger. The medical team rushed her to the nearby local medical facility that attached her finger, almost instantly. She had feelings back in her arms within a couple of days, as per an update on Instagram. Check out her words, here,

“So the word is out I nearly lost my finger shooting @911onfox. Freak accident, first take of the day a boat door fell on my hand, I thought I just jammed my fingers so I finished the take before looking (I know it sounds crazy, but I’m used to live audiences and never showing pain unless I’m supposed to) after a break in the action I told our director the situation and was rushed via ambulance to the hospital where they promptly reattached my bone and tendon with a plate and screws. I returned to filming the next day and finished my scenes before returning home to recover. Modern medicine amazes me, I already had a 50% range of motion back in 3 days.”

This is not the first time that Ronda Rousey has injured her fingers this year. She has already broken her fingers during Wrestlemania 35 main event that led her into a hiatus, afterward. To date, she remains a WWE performer who is set to make her wrestling return at some point, probably during the fall of this year.

As for the ongoing shooting, Ronda Rousey grabbed a role in the hit first responders drama from Fox. She plays the role of a firefighter Lena Bosko, a character that is a stoic and fearless member of the Los Angeles Fire Department Station #136. She gets into action to save lives whenever a disaster hits. The third season of the 9-1-1 series will premiere on Monday, September 23rs at 8 pm ET on Fox.
