Last night, Smackdown Live witnessed a packed episode kicking things off for the MITB PPV. In comparison of Monday Night Raw, the blue brand was able to deliver yet another compact edition. There were some major upsets in the qualifying matches as most of the heels were able to pin the babyfaces, clean.

The main event of the show witnessed Daniel Bryan going up against Rusev. When it looked like the universal babyface will pick up the win, it turned out to be Rusev who advanced to the Money in the Bank ladder match. So, the show came to an end on a surprising note.

After Smackdown, there was a major treat to the fans in attendance. None other than the WWE Champion came out to entertain the fans. Being a fighting champion, he put his title on the line, again. His opponent was none other than Shinsuke Nakamura. Quite expectedly, the babyface title-holder retained the title to send the fans home, happily.

Another dark match was in-store for the crowd before the main show kicked off. The former NXT women’s champion was seen in action against a former member of Absolution to deliver a fighting contest Check out the reports from wrestlingINC.com on this match,

“The dark match before tonight’s WWE SmackDown from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore saw Asuka defeat Sonya Deville. Our correspondent wrote, “One helluva match, we all wanted it to go longer. Really great women’s action.”

On the WWE Smackdown fallout show, Rusev and Aiden English seemed quite happy now that they have been able to stop the YES movement for good. It was good to see the crowd favorite to be inserted into the MITB match. Furthermore, Lana also joined him for the second week in a row while he was speaking to English.

The Miz was also seen bragging about his victory over Jeff Hardy. He cut a promo on winning the MITB briefcase for the second time in his career and going to the main event of Wrestlemania, once again.

Apart from this, Big Cass was seen on Smackdown fallout show where he stated that Rusev should thank him for injuring Daniel Bryan at Backlash. This is the only reason why the Bulgarian Brute was able to pick up the victory.
