After a hiatus of more than a year, Becky Lynch has returned to WWE TV programming at Summerslam 2021. Since then, she has been on a roll. To date, she has not spent even a day without the Raw or Smackdown Women’s Title. She went on to defeat Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and then became the RAW Women’s Champion.
Technically, Becky Lynch never dropped the Raw Women’s Title since she had won it back at Wrestlemania 39 in a Winner Takes All match. It was also the same night that she reached the height of success and former WWE Superstar Nia Jax had a lot to do behind that to happen.

2018 was the most significant year for Becky Lynch where she rose to the top of her superstardom after suffering a legitimate concussion at the hands of Jax just before Survivor Series 2018. Jax hit Becky with a legit punch in the face during an invasion segment on Monday Night RAW which ruined the dream singles match between Becky and Ronda Rousey.
Nia Jax claimed she didn’t intentionally hit Becky Lynch
While speaking on Renee Paquette’s The Sessions podcast, Jax opened up about hurting Becky Lynch. Jax revealed how a WWE producer told her to make the brawl look real. At first, she was hit with a lot of punches in the corner. Out of frustration, she hit back and at first, she thought of punching Lana in the face.
“The producer of that match, won’t name names, basically was like, ‘This needs to look real, say sorry later.’ We were all like, ‘Okay, cool, let’s go, let’s have fun, whatever,’” Jax continued.
“I continue to get punched in the back of my head, and I was like, ‘Good lord,’ so I just turn around and I really go to clear the person. My fist was not closed, I did not punch her intentionally, but it did connect. I was not even aware that it was Becky. I honestly thought it was Lana.”

After the incident, Becky Lynch suffered a concussion and she was removed from the scheduled match against Ronda Rousey. Charlotte Flair ended up replacing her on that night to deliver another dream match for the fans. However, the accident actually helped Becky to get over with the fans as she went on to become the most natural babyface on the roster.
