Summerslam 2019 has been a treat for the WWE fans as it had the perfect combination of matches. Multiple championships were on the line from Raw and Smackdown to make it stacked cars. Plus, numerous legends came back making it a must-see event. WWE Hall of Famer Edge was one of them who interrupted Elias as he insulted Canada as part of SummerSlam’s kick-off show.

The former World Champion then delivered a spear to The Drifter to a thunderous reception from the audience. It was the first time that Edge featured in a physical in a WWE ring since his retirement back in 2011. So this has set the pro-wrestling universe into a frenzy, so to spear. They are wondering whether this means that the medical team has cleared him to wrestle, again.

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, WWE officials cleared Edge to make his return on this past Sunday night and be part of a segment with Elias. But that does not mean he can come back to action in the near future. As of right now, this would remain as just a one-off occasion as there are no future plans with The Rated-R Superstar.

WWE Universe is well-aware of the fact that how Edge had to take retirement back in 2011 which is one of the most emotional moments of entire WWE history. A broken detected neck by the doctors confirmed that he could drag his Hall of Fame career, anymore. Edge did make a number of comebacks following that on WWE programming in non-physical capacities.

In fact, WWE used him and his broken neck in one of the storylines back in 2014 to bring back the Authority in control. Edge was part of the angle where Seth Rollins threatened his life if John Cena didn’t reinstate Triple H and Stephanie McMahon on top of the roster, back in 2014. The Master Manipulator was also part of an angle where Becky Lynch insulted him on TV back in October 2018 that later led to a Twitter feud.

However, later we have learned that it was just a work by both the superstars to fool the fans. Edge married fellow WWE Hall of Famer and NXT commentator Beth Phoenix who also have two young daughters. Considering the fact one bad bump could even cost his life, WWE would not take the risk to put him through any physical capacity. So there’s no possibility to see him back in action.
