Wrestlemania 38 is going to be the biggest premium live event of the year 2022 from WWE. Just like any other year, the Biggest Event of the Year will be here in the spring season gathering the top superstars under one roof. The rumored main event for the show has been spoiled in the earlier weeks and reportedly there’s been no change, as of yet.
The huge change from WWE Day 1 won’t reportedly make any change on the earlier planning. The inaugural premium live event on New Year’s Day in Atlanta, Georgia went through a slight mismatch on the show after Universal Champion Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19. He was taken out for the show and a replacement was set by the company, right away.
Brock Lesnar Holds An Incredible Record With His Latest WWE Day 1 Title Win
Originally, Brock Lesnar was scheduled to challenge Reigns at Day 1 for the Universal Title. But then he was added to the WWE Championship match between champion Big E, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens to make it a Fatal 5 Way. The Beast then went on to win the WWE title from Big E by pinning the former champion.

Reigns vs. Lesnar would be amplified for Wrestlemania 38
In general, the idea was that the Reigns vs. Lesnar feud could be coming to a halt after what went down. However, WWE made it clear that they won’t be leaving the program but rather will only make it bigger. With both the top superstars holding championships, it will be a champion vs. champion battle at Wrestlemania 38.
On the latest Bryan and Vinny Show, Bryan Alvarez discussed the situation. He stated that the original plan was for Big E to walk out of Day 1 with the title. Reigns came down with COVID which is the reason, the title swap was made and the upcoming Reigns vs. Lesnar battle’s capacity at Wrestlemania 38 was just made bigger,
“I can talk to 100 people there and 100 of them would tell me, ‘I think this is what’s happening but I don’t know for sure.’ But I think that the idea here is that they are doing champion vs. champion at WrestleMania. Roman would be the SmackDown Champion, Brock would be the Raw Champion. Either a unification match or just champion vs. champion like they do at Survivor Series.” (quotes Wrestling News)
Ringside News also previously reported that the Day 1 title swap only enhanced the situation between Lesnar and Reigns. Hence, it’s likely that another rematch between these two is happening at Wrestlemania 38 in Dallas, Texas.
