Over on this past edition of RAW, Brock Lesnar chose WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns as his WrestleMania 38 opponent. He also made a statement to the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley that he will become WWE Champion by the time we reach The Biggest Event of the Year, making the ‘Mania bout a Title vs. Title main event.
Lesnar would eventually get on to be added to the WWE Title Elimination Chamber match scheduled for February 19 in Saudi Arabia, along with the champion Lashley, AJ Styles, Austin Theory, Seth Rollins, and Riddle. If Lesnar wins this match then he can head into Wrestlemania 38 as a champion, too. The current push also calls for a big Title vs. Title match at the April PPV.
Stone Cold Steve Austin Wants To Face Brock Lesnar In A Dream WWE Match
There’s now a feeling within the creative team that WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon will agree to go with the Title vs. Title match between Lesnar and Reigns. This explains the move why he put Lesnar in the Chamber, in the first place, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Title vs. Title match pushed for Wrestlemania 38
People within WWE are also pushing for the Title vs. Title match to happen, including Lesnar and Heyman. Both the WWE Title and the Universal Title will be on the line at the Show of Shows. Here’s more from the source regarding Wrestlemania 38 main event match,
“At this point, the feeling on creative is that Vince will make the call to go with Title vs. Title, hence putting Lesnar in the Chamber. There were those internally including Heyman and Lesnar pushing for it.
The only thing we were told is that at press time the course to WrestleMania 38 is once again set regarding both Titles and there are a several twists and turns to come.
It’ll all play out at Elimination Chamber most likely. The feeling internally was Vince was leaning in the direction of Title vs. Title, which would mean the originally planned WWE Title match, whatever it would have been, is now off.”
Former WWE Smackdown Women’s Champions Reportedly Returning Before Wrestlemania 38
Now if this plan ends up becoming a reality, then it’ll be a bad news for the RAW brand, as the red brand’s World Title, WWE Championship will be contested between a SmackDown Superstar, Reigns, and a Free Agent, Lesnar at the biggest show of the year. Neither a RAW Superstar will be involved in it and nor there will be a world title match from the red brand.
