Heading into WrestleMania 38, a new replica of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt was spotted in Frisco, Texas, over this past weekend. The photo went viral on the internet and the professional wrestling fans can’t stop discussing whether this would become the next top prize in sports entertainment after the existing two top titles get unified in the first week of April.

A reddit user clicked the photo and shared it with the information that the WWE production team was taking exterior shots for WrestleMania 38, the event which is scheduled to be at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Dallas, Texas. Apparently, the belt is being speculated to be the new design of a belt that could be dubbed as the new WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship.

Several fans pointed out how this giant replica could be an amalgamation of the WWE Title and WWE Universal Title designs. The current WWE Title design has a black background with a red underline under the WWE logo while the Universal Title has a blue background with a red underline under the logo. The new belt appears to have a blue underline with a design that could reflect post WrestleMania 38 plans regarding the next top belt.

WWE to introduce new title following Wrestlemania 38

Following the Elimination Chamber PPV event, it announced that Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns will be a Title Unification match at WrestleMania 38. It means that there will only be one champion by the end of the Show of Shows. Recent reports hint that there’s been a feeling within WWE that one champion is not feasible for RAW and SmackDown brands in the modern environment since they get aired on different networks.

Raw and Smackdown air on the USA Network and FOX and they do need their own top champions. While a new Unified WWE Champion will be crowned at WrestleMania 38, it appears that his position will be temporary as a unified champion. WWE reportedly has plans to crown a new world champion for the RAW brand in the future.

“It will change (from one champion again) because it’s not plausible, not for either’s schedule, not for the networks, not for the long term,” a WWE source informed The Wrestling Observer.

It appears whichever champion wins at WrestleMania 38, will be appearing on Smackdown on FOX as the top champion while WWE will find ways to introduce a new championship on the red brand. No update is available on the exact planning on crowning the new champion.
