Rey Mysterio was already announced for a big matchup at Wrestlemania 40, last week but after what transpired on the latest episode of Smackdown, the lineup for that match has now been changed. The original tag team partner of the WWE Hall of Famer is changed and that’s one surprising name.
Dragon Lee was supposed to team up with Rey Mysterio against Santos Escobar & Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 40 night one, tonight. But there was an angle on the latest episode of SmackDown where Lee was taken out in a backstage attack.
Andrade initially aligned with the Legado del Fantasma on SmackDown. But then he saved Rey from an attack by Escobar and Dominik to officially join the LWO. The heels thought they had Andrade on their side until he clotheslined Dominik and be-sided himself with his former rival Rey Mysterio. Plus, this move also reunited him with his former manager Zelina Vega.

After the segment, it was announced that Rey Mysterio and Andrade would team up against Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio at Wrestlemania 40. Interestingly, WWE did not reveal the identity of Lee’s attacker. It’s been presumed that Legado del Fantasma was behind the attack but Carlito could be the one. Carlito is a member of the LWO but he’s not happy about Rey choosing Lee over him as his ‘Mania partner.
