Roman Reigns main-evented WrestleMania 40 Night Two that went down last night from the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania culminating in the biggest extravaganza in sports entertainment. His matchup against Cody Rhodes served as the headliner of the PLE and made him the WWE Star with the highest number of main event matches in history with the number being nine.

In the match that was contested under The Bloodline Rules for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns (c) to become the new champion. Amid multiple interferences in favor of the latter, there are also saviors for Rhodes in the form of The Undertaker or John Cena as he could finish the story.

WWE Wrestlemania 40: Highlights From Post-Show Press Conference

In the post-Wrestlemania 40 press conference, Triple H appeared and plugged in this PLE being the biggest in every metric. He also talked about Roman Reigns’ loss and put that over in a big way. HHH mentioned that there’s a lot of banter about the greatest of all time and The Tribal Chief perfectly fits into the slot.

After judging by all the metrics, Roman Reigns went on to say that he is one of the greatest of all time. HHH said Roman did all of his commitments in the WWE alongside these epic matches and epic storytelling. He also mentioned that Roman changed the industry. Now, he is going to start a new story that will blow the fans’ minds. Nothing specifically was stated regarding the coming angle.

Roman Reigns slated for a hiatus after Wrestlemania 40 PLE

Going by his usual schedule, Roman Reigns is expected to take some time off following WrestleMania 40. Fans shouldn’t expect to see him on WWE programming until the next Saudi Arabia show arrives rumored for May 25th. Or else, he could be going on a hiatus until the SummerSlam event set for August 3rd in Cleveland. Here’s more from the reports of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter,

“I don’t think anyone believes Roman Reigns would retire with a loss, and WWE has taught fans not to believe it, but given his schedule, it’s probable he’d take some time off. Given his limited schedule, one wouldn’t even expect him on a show again until the as yet unannounced next Saudi Arabia show (last word being on 5/25) and the 8/3 SummerSlam show in Cleveland.”
