WWE has a ton of things going at this moment and those include the plans for Wrestlemania 40 which will be the biggest premium live event of the next calendar year. With the recent WWE-UFC merger officially happening, the Endeavor branch of TKO is the franchise of the brand and next year, they will be officially hosting their first ‘Mania which calls for the biggest celebration.

The Rock is in the equation as he came back to the WWE for a one-off appearance in September and admitted since then to be open for a match at Wrestlemania 40 if the opportunity presents a suitable scenario. With that, The Rock vs. Roman Reigns seems to be a real possibility while WWE is also speculated to bring back another huge name for the event.

Stone Cold’s return rumor at Wrestlemania 40 reported to be fake news

Stone Cold Steve Austin is that who headlined Wrestlemania 38 in his home state in 2022. Given the perfect shape that he’s been in since then, it was safe to assume for the fans that WWE must have instructed the legend to be ready for more future appearances. However, no such scenario was made for his return.

Wild rumors on the internet claimed that WWE could be considering Stone Cold for one more wrestling match at Wrestlemania 40 in Philadelphia. Ringside News reached out to a tenured member of the creative team, and they were told that any report on the veteran featuring in another match is “FAKE NEWS!”

WWE has main events figured out for Wrestlemania 40

RSN also reached out to confirm WWE’s plans for WrestleMania 40 and they were told that the main event matches for both nights of the show are decided. The Women’s Title championship matches are also decided alongside the main event option which could be the reason rumors are there about three already planned matches.

WWE is seemingly having a lot of options to build up the Wrestlemania 40 card and the main event has the Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes option to be the front-runner which was also teased during the 2023 season premiere of Smackdown. We have to wait a bit more to get confirmation about the plans set for the Show of Shows emanating from the Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, April 6th, and Sunday, April 7th, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
