At WWE Day 1, Brock Lesnar will get another championship match from the reigning champion, Roman Reigns. This match was expected after the controversial finish that took place at Crown Jewel. But as noted, the upcoming PPV won’t mark the end of the feud as this program could possibly lead to yet another big match at Wrestlemania 38.

Brock Lesnar was not seen on WWE television after dropping the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. But that changed at WWE SummerSlam, where he made his shocking return to WWE television and targeted Roman Reigns, right away. This also marked a babyface turn for the top superstar who’s been entertaining the WWE fans en route to WWE Day 1.

WWE Day 1: Brock Lesnar Vs. Roman Reigns Could Have A Major Swerve 1

A few weeks ago, Brock Lesnar was suspended after attacking WWE Official Adam Pearce and the referees but he came back to create a ruckus upon The Bloodline. On a recent episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Roman Reigns did the unthinkable as he fired Paul Heyman and also physically assaulted him in the ring.

WWE Day 1 main-event to have a surprise ending

But there could be a flip side to the story. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has big plans for Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns’ feud which was already reported. Lesnar may win at WWE Day 1 after which Heyman is likely to double-cross him at WrestleMania 38, next year, or the firing by Reigns would just end up to be a ruse that would help out Reigns to retain.

”There are different ways they can go, including a Lesnar title win to set up a WrestleMania rematch, or Lesnar on the verge of winning and it comes out that the Heyman firing was a ruse and he double-crosses Lesnar. The idea should be what is the best way to build WrestleMania. It could also be that a Heyman double-cross of Lesnar could be saved for WrestleMania.”

Roman Reigns is the current favorite to retain his WWE Universal Championship at WWE Day 1 on January 1st, 2022 against Brock Lesnar and become the longest-reigning Universal Champion of WWE history. But things could go Lesnar’s way given the creative team may just want the program to become even more intriguing, heading into Wrestlemania.
