WWE Fastlane PPV Match Card, Preview & Prediction: March 11, 2018

The Fastlane PPV event can be considered as a filler event which just raises up the stakes higher for the Wrestlemania event.

This time around, it is back as a Smackdown-exclusive show. It can be considered as the last-ever brand-exclusive PPV show since all the upcoming events will be co-branded, going forward.

The night will be headlined by the six-pack challenge featuring all the prime superstars present on the brand. The free agent, John Cena will also feature in this match to find his road to Wrestlemania. Apart from this matchup, there will be three more title matches to be hosted on this night. It confirms all the four titles present in this brand will be on the line.

We should not expect many surprises in this show since more exciting things might be in-store as would head on to Wrestlemania. But, we will be curious to know which superstars will head to the biggest event of the year with titles around their waist. The show will be hosted by the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. It will be available in India, live on pay-per-view on the WWE Network.

Check out the match predictions for the show with the full match card:

SmackDown Tag Team Title Match
The New Day vs. The Usos
Prediction:
The Usos had the strongest run with the Smackdown tag team titles. So, they deserve to head to Wrestlemania as the reigning champions. It is needless to say these two teams possess veteran instincts and we will see an A-star match from them. The Bludgeon might also try to show up providing the distraction. But, in the end, the Samoan Twin should retain at Fastlane.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Rusev
Prediction: It’s pretty hard to see these two hot favourites of the crowd getting a match with no such buildup. There’s no doubt this one can be a great match but fans could connect less with no storyline angle provided into it. The Rusev Day chants will fill up the arena, for sure.

But, Nakamura can’t lose a match, at this point when he is heading to Wrestlemania main event. So, a win would be reserved for The Artist despite interference from Aiden English.

Women’s Division Tag Team Match
Becky Lynch and Naomi vs Natalya and Carmella
Prediction:
The same can be said for this matchup, too which was inserted into the match card of Fastlane as a pure filler one. It is certain the audience will care the least and might want to use this match as a break in the show. The babyfaces have the better chance to emerge as the winner. They will probably be inserted into the title match at Wrestlemania if a multi-woman match gets hosted at Wrestlemania.

WWE United States Title Match
Randy Orton vs Bobby Roode
Prediction:
This one is going to be a mouth-watering match for the WWE fans which has never been seen in the WWE, before this. Plus, the capacity in which two babyfaces collide is something much different. Jinder Mahal will try to lurk in creating the distraction for Randy Orton that might cost him while trying to win his first US title in the company. It would set up a triple threat championship match at Wrestlemania, going forward.

SmackDown Women’s Title Match
Ruby Riott vs Charlotte Flair
Prediction:
Another fresh matchup will be seen at Fastlane for the Smackdown women’s championship. Ruby Riott has been a good heel on the blue brand from day one. So, she deserved this title opportunity more than anyone else on the roster.

However, she is still not that much good to capture a title. Hence, The Queen will retain despite distractions from the other members of the Riott Squad.

Six-Pack Challenge for the WWE Title
John Cena vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kevin Owens vs. Baron Corbin vs. AJ Styles
Prediction:
Over the years, there have been just a few six-pack challenges for the WWE Championship match. One of them will happen, on tonight’s Fastlane PPV.

The odds are stacked against AJ Styles. But, he is likely to topple all of that proving why he is said the Phenomenal One in the WWE.

This would set up the title match between him and Nakamura at Wrestlemania. Furthermore, we can see a glimpse of The Undertaker, as well to eliminate John Cena from his road to Wrestlemania and create a new path for him.
