The only co-WWE and ECW Champion in history, Rob Van Dam is likely to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, this year. Although his name is yet to be confirmed by the WWE, his friend and fellow ECW original Sabu has decided to disclose the exciting news. Sabu also informed that he wasn’t supposed to reveal the same but perhaps he couldn’t just wait to make the announcement.
Sabu recently appeared in an interview with The NWC Show to discuss a number of topics related to professional wrestling who also shared his thoughts on the WWE Hall Of Fame. During the interview, he made an interesting claim saying that Rob Van Dam will make it to the most prestigious club present in the industry during the 2021 edition set for the WrestleMania 37 weekend:
“Hey, Rob Van Dam is getting into the Hall of Fame this year, I think. I wasn’t supposed to say anything but you can tell people that. Exclusive, right,” Sabu said.

RVD entered the WWE in 2001, a few months after the ECW was shut down. He made sure that his career becomes a WWE Hall of Fame worthy by winning over half a dozen titles in the company before the departure in 2007. He came back in 2013 to have a run for one and a half years before leaving. Afterward, Mr. Monday Night continued to make sporadic appearances in WWE programming.
Currently, the former champion has been working for a WWE Icons episode based on him that will probably release in the summer. If this WWE Hall of Fame induction news is true then RVD will be joining Molly Holly and Eric Bischoff for the 2021 class alongside the 2020 class, who was never inducted last year.
Batista officially pulled his name from WWE Hall of Fame, this year
Speaking of the WWE Hall of Fame 2020 class, the headliner name Batista has officially pulled himself off the show. In late 2019, the multi-time world champion was announced for the honor but recently WWE has withdrawn the induction article from their website. When a user tries to visit that page, they get the following message:
“You are not authorized to access this page.”
Batista has now confirmed that he won’t be getting inducted alongside the reason in a tweet,
“To the @WWEUniverse Unfortunately due to previous obligations I am unable to be a part of the @WWE #HOF this year.
By my request they have agreed to induct me at a future ceremony where I’ll be able to properly thank the fans and people who made my career possible #DreamChaser”
