Roman Reigns has literally toppled every resistance put against him during the ongoing championship run. Last week, at Crown Jewel 2021 PPV event, he defeated Brock Lesnar to retain his title which has already surpassed the 400-day mark. He’s already set records during this reign and something far bigger is waiting for him, as per the latest reports.
Over on last week’s episode of SmackDown, the reigning Universal Champion bragged about his victory over Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel and called himself the ‘Greatest Of All Time’. Apparently, this catchphrase is going to be the next shtick for him in WWE programming.
According to Wrestling News, WWE is planning to have Roman Reigns break Brock Lesnar’s record of the longest Universal Title reign. Brock had a controversial run with the title that lasted for 503 days. Now his bitter rival has been the Universal Champion for 420+ days. Hence, he will break the record in January 2022 given that WWE has no plans to take the belt away from the current champion.

Roman Reigns to become the Greatest of All-Time
WWE wants to make Roman Reigns the ‘Greatest Champion of All Time’ (alongside the catchphrase of the Greatest Of All Time). Breaking Brock Lesnar’s record will make him the longest World Champion of the modern era and hence WWE will easily establish the new gimmick on television.

It was also noted that WWE wants to continue with this mega push for Roman Reigns push as they want to dub this as the best in pro-wrestling today and they are happy with the numbers, as well. As reported earlier, The Tribal Chief character is the number-one merchandise seller in WWE. Reigns’ babyface character was a huge merch-mover for years but his sales have increased during this heel run which shocked the WWE Officials.
Roman Reigns recently set the record for the highest merchandise sales for a heel wrestler in WWE history. Now he has reached the same level that once John Cena’s merch sales’ level used to belong. So, he won’t be losing the Universal Title, anytime soon and he’d probably enter Wrestlemania with the title for the second year in a row. A rematch against Brock Lesnar is highly anticipated although things could change in the near future.
