WWE Mixed Match Challenge II Results (1st Play-Off Episode): November 27, 2018

Mixed Match Challenge entered the playoff rounds on last night’s episode. Each of the matches will take place in an elimination-style leading us into the finale. It will take place at the TLC event on December 16th in San Jose, California. The winners will receive an entry into the number 30 spot at their respective Royal Rumble matches.

Results from last week’s Mixed Match Challenge

Both the matches from last night were from the Raw division that determined two of the first semi-finalists. In the first matchup, Team Mahalicia (Jinder Mahal-Alicia Fox) competed against Ember Moon and Curt Hawkins. Braun Strowman was the original partner for Moon who is out of action due to the shattered elbow.

His absence turned out to be fatal for this team who was the favorite to win the Mixed Match Challenge season II. Curt Hawkins was the least confident man to even compete as he has not won a match in the last two years. So he tagged Ember Moon to start the match. Moon and Alicia Fox went back and forth inside the ring. Foxy tagged his partner into the bout that forced Hawkins to compete, as well.

Mahal dominated most part of the match against Hawkins. A one-off offense allowed Hawkins to tag Moon back into the contest. Moon dominated the match and even delivered her finisher Eclipse on Fox. Hawkins tagged himself back into the match wanting to get the pinfall on Fox. This was not legal of course as the referee did not count. Mahal came from the back and hit the Khallas to take his team into the semi-finale.

In the second match of Mixed Match Challenge, Team BnB (Finn Balor-Bobby Lashley) was up against Team Country Dominance (Bobby Lashley-Mickie James). Both the team lost only one match in the round robin league to emerge as one of the favorites in this tournament. So we expected a strong competition in this bout.

Prior to the match, Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley continued doing annoying things. Lashley did his favorite posturing pose in front of the crowd. Bayley and Mickie James started the match bringing some quick fire actions. They eventually tagged back to their respective partners. Bobby Lashley took control of the match overpowering Finn Balor. Mickie James meanwhile took out Bayley so that Balor can’t tag her.

Bayley recuperated and managed to get back into the match taking the fight to Mickie James. Lio Rush decided to interfere the match but Finn Balor threw him out of the ring and gave a summersault senton splash. This allowed Bayley to hit the Bayley-to-belly and advance to Mixed Match Challenge semi-final.
