We have the Money in the Bank 2022 ladder match-winner in the form of a former United States Champion in Theory. During last night’s PPV, Theory defeated Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Omos, Sheamus, Sami Zayn, Madcap Moss, and Riddle to win the briefcase and a contract that he could cash in for a future world championship opportunity.

Money in the Bank 2022 didn’t begin as Theory would have wanted since, in the United States Championship Match, Bobby Lashley defeated him to win the Title. After escaping the A-Down-Town attempt, Lashley tapped him out with the Hurt Lock submission.

Theory was a surprise entrant for Money in the Bank 2022 ladder match

Then before the Money in the Bank 2022 men’s ladder match began, WWE Official Adam Pearce made his way out to the ringside area and announced that Theory would be the eighth and last match entrant in the main event match.

Riddle had the advantage during the final sequence of the match as he RKO’d Rollins off the top of the ladder. Riddle climbed the ladder but Theory rushed up the ladder and sent “The Original Bro” crashing down. Theory then retrieved the briefcase to win the Money in the Bank 2022 ladder match. Theory would also close the show by taking his customary “selfies” with the newly won briefcase on top of the ladder.

Money in the Bank 2022 marked the 13th event under the PPV chronology. Originally, the MITB ladder match made its debut in 2005 at WrestleMania 21 and would be an annual tradition for the Show of Shows before WWE converted it into a gimmick-based pay-per-view event in 2010. Since then, it has become an annual tradition in the WWE calendar and got never skipped.
