WWE News: Asuka Expected to Join Raw Roster Upon Return
Aug 31, 2017 at 2:30 PM
Asuka was able to finish the match against Ember Moon successfully despite the injury she suffered. The match stole the show of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III. Most of the critiques have stated that it was the best match on the card on that evening. In the end, the champion made the challenger tap out with her submission move to continue with her title reign.
Now, we all know that Asuka has been the most dominant champion in today’s WWE. She has held the NXT Women’s Championship for more than 500 days. Following the win, we thought that she would continue to dominate the NXT scene for some more times. It also vanquished the rumours of The Empress of Tomorrow joining either Raw or Smackdown brand.

However, after the doctor’s check-up, it was detected that Asuka has suffered a collarbone injury and will be out of action for more than four to six weeks. It also forced her to relinquish the Women’s Championship. It was pretty unfortunate to witness a dominant champion like her is being forced to vacate the title despite losing it.
Now that it’s official, Bobby Roode/Asuka were the major call-ups I was referring to after TakeOver.
I’ve been told Asuka will be on Raw. https://t.co/SQF59pzsg4

At this time, it is being speculated that she will be joining the main roster, directly after her return. The speculations were fuelled by herself, as she told that she is in talks with both the mainstay brand make her debut. According to Ryan Satin of Pro-wrestling Sheet, the former NXT Women’s Champion is set to join the Raw brand once she comes back.
In general, a collarbone injury takes minimum 6 to 8 weeks to get healed up. So, she is expected to be back in October. Another hint was made by James McKenna of the same source who predicted that the Raw-exclusive PPV, TLC in the month of October would mark her debut on Raw.

The Raw women’s roster desperately needs some fresh names into the mix and Asuka should be welcomed. Plus, Bobby Roode, the other champion from NXT has already joined Smackdown. Hence, it is understandable why Asuka would join Raw.
